Why we collect your information

This project will help us increase the sustainability of our movement. We will use the information you provide to:

  • Run the associated event or meeting
  • Improve our projects, tools, and services
  • Find applicants, participants, or nominations
  • Support community development efforts

How we collect your information

Please note that this application and report forms are powered by Fluxx, which means Fluxx's use of your information is governed by their Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

What information we collect

If you choose to participate, we will ask you to provide the following types of information:

Responses to questions
such as defined and free-form responses
Contact information
such as name, username, email address
Payment information
such as name, address, bank information
Media submissions
such as video, photo, slide decks
We will also collect the following using public information and the service(s) identified above:
Public Wikimedia activity information
such as user contributions or public logs

How we share your information

Publishing: We will publish grant applications and reports including the grantee's username, region, organization (organization name, location or registration country, website, nonprofit status, affiliation with Wikimedia Movement and leader(s) name(s) if there is/are any) and a description of the proposed project and its achieved outcomes will be published on meta.wikimedia.org. Aggregate data will also be published on meta.wikimedia.org. Other personal information of grantees (e.g. address, date of birth, identification details, real name, organization email, organization full address, phone numbers, any provided documents or their digital copies) will not be published.

Access: Raw data will only be shared with Wikimedia staff, contractors, and service providers who need to process this information and are subject to non-disclosure obligations. Please note that we are collaborating with CEE Hub, who is also bound by contractual obligations to treat your information consistently with the principles of our Privacy Policy.

Other sharing: We may disclose any collected information when required by law, when we have your permission, when needed to protect our rights, privacy, safety, users, or the general public, and when necessary to enforce our Terms of Use or any other Wikimedia policy.

The raw data we collect may be retained indefinitely. See our data retention guidelines for more information.

Please note that in the event of any differences in meaning or interpretation between the original English version of this Privacy Statement and a translation, the original English version takes precedence.
