Link to the wikitech Robot policy page
There is a robot policy page on wikitech which provides more detailed guidance on acceptable request rates: https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Robot_policy. It would be useful to link to that page from the more high level policy. DKinzler (WMF) (talk) 06:52, 9 April 2025 (UTC)
- Seconded. It's linked from the user agent policy, but only in the footnotes, and this would be the more logical place to link it. Maybe add "Follow the robot policy if your software is automatically consuming content at a large scale" to the "When using Wikimedia APIs, an operator must:" list? Done. Note: For internal requests, it is generally preferred if you could ask the Legal department directly, as they need to approve changes. I facilitated it this time. Thanks. Quiddity (WMF) (talk) 21:21, 23 July 2025 (UTC)
