Whereas, the Affiliations Committee has assessed the application for recognition as a Wikimedia Chapter submitted by the Wikimedia Brasil User Group, and has advised the Board of Trustees that the applicant group meets the criteria for recognition as a Wikimedia Chapter, and that recognition of the applicant group as a Wikimedia Chapter under the name Wikimedia Brasil would further the charitable aims of the Wikimedia Foundation and be in the best interests of the Wikimedia movement;
Whereas, with staff assistance, the Board has independently assessed that recommendation and agrees with it; and
Whereas, the Board wishes to recognize and welcome the Wikimedia Brasil User Group as a Wikimedia Chapter dedicated to supporting and promoting the Wikimedia movement;
Now, therefore, it is:
RESOLVED, that the Board recognizes Wikimedia Brasil User Group as a Wikimedia Chapter under the name Wikimedia Brasil, provided that the Wikimedia Brasil User Group accepts and complies with a Wikimedia Chapter Agreement which will govern the chapter’s recognition and provide the chapter with specific permission to use the Wikimedia trademarks.
