This statement describes how and when Wikimedia collects, uses, and shares the information we receive from survey participants.
Purpose of Survey
We appreciate your feedback! This survey will help us collect your input on our Wikimedia 2030 movement strategy.
What Information We Collect
This survey collects the responses you provide to the questions asked; there are two types of answers: defined responses, and free-form responses. You may choose to provide your user name and group affiliation if any, if you wish to have your comments published with attribution.
Information Sharing and Disclosure
With the exception of the circumstances described below, the raw data collected in this survey will only be accessible to the Wikimedia staff and contractors who need to process this information in order to achieve the goals of this project, and are subject to non-disclosure obligations.
The results of this survey will be shared publicly, in the following manner. Aggregate data about the defined-response questions, and the raw answers to the free-form response questions, will be published on meta.wikimedia.org. For that reason, we strongly suggest that you do not provide your real name, email address, or other personal information in response to any questions. We will share these answers anonymously, unless you have provided your user name and any group affiliation, in which case we will provide attribution for your comments.
Licensing of Survey Responses
By answering the free-form response questions, you agree that we may record your answers, and agree to donate them to the public domain.
Wikimedia is a global organization committed to promoting free and open knowledge. By participating in this study, you agree to the transfer, storage, and use of the collected information to the United States and other places as may be necessary to carry out the purposes and objectives discussed above. You also consent to the transfer of information from the U.S. to other countries, which may have different or less stringent data protection laws than your country, in order to carry out the aforementioned purposes and objectives.
Wikimedia understands the importance of user privacy. For this reason, we work to protect our users from the unauthorized disclosure or use of information we maintain. Certain types of non-personally identifying information and aggregated or anonymized information may be kept indefinitely. See our data retention guidelines for more information. For questions about this survey, or to access or change your answers, contact email@example.com.
Thanks again for your feedback!
