Quick Survey Privacy Statement

This statement describes how and when Wikimedia collects, uses, and shares the information we receive from survey participants.

Purpose of Survey

Wikimedia will use the information collected from this survey to improve Wikimedia operations, projects, and services.

What Information We Collect

In addition to any information included in your responses, we may receive other information including the title of the page you viewed the survey on, what platform you were using, the language you were viewing, whether you were logged in or not, how many edits you have made, and the country you viewed the survey from. Information Sharing and Disclosure

With the exception of the circumstances described below, we will only share raw collected information with the Wikimedia staff and contractors who need to process this information. We may publicly share anonymized or aggregated statistics regarding the survey's results. We explain in greater detail here what types of information we treat as public information and what licenses apply.

We may, however, disclose any collected information when required by law, when we have your permission, when needed to protect our rights, privacy, safety, users, or the general public, and when necessary to enforce our Terms of Use or any other Wikimedia policy.

Retention & Security

Raw data and personally identifying information (if any) will be deleted within 90 days. Non-personally identifying information and aggregated or anonymized information may be kept indefinitely. Understanding the importance of user privacy, Wikimedia strives to protect our users from the unauthorized disclosure, use, or destruction of information we maintain.

By submitting your response, you agree to the transfer, storage, and use of the collected information to the United States and other places as may be necessary to carry out the purposes and objectives discussed above.
