What Information is Transferred to the Wikimedia Foundation
The Wikipedia Reading Lists extension requires that you log in to your Wikipedia account in order to add articles to your account's Reading List. In addition to your username and password, browser information is also transferred to WMF. We will use this information to operate and improve the Reading List feature.
Information Sharing and Disclosure
The Wikimedia Foundation understands the importance of user privacy. For this reason, we work to protect our users from the unauthorized disclosure or use of information we maintain. The information transferred to us through your use of the extension will be accessible to Wikimedia Foundation staff who are working on maintaining and improving the Reading List feature. With the exception of the Reading List itself, the information transferred to us will be de-identified, aggregated, or deleted within 90 days, in accordance with our Data retention guidelines. Pages that you save to your Reading List will be stored until you choose to delete them or turn off the Reading List syncing in the Wikipedia iOS or Android app.
We may disclose any transferred information when required by law, when we have your permission, when needed to protect our rights, privacy, safety, users, or the general public, and when necessary to enforce our Terms of Use or any other Wikimedia policy.
