Purpose of Survey
We appreciate your feedback! We aim to facilitate a direct pathway for exchanging ideas between the organization that serves Wikimedia projects and the researchers interested in studying them. To forward this goal, we are inviting researchers to submit papers to present at a virtual conference workshop and also inviting people to register for the workshop.
What Information We Collect
The paper submission form collects research papers and the free-form responses you provide to the questions asked. If your paper is accepted, then additional materials will be requested including a presentation slide deck and poster.
The registration form only collects the defined responses and free-form responses you provide to the questions asked.
Information Sharing and Disclosure
The results of the paper submission form will be shared publicly in the following manner. Accepted papers will be shared publicly during Wiki Workshop for the purpose of open analysis, research, and study. Accepted papers will be published on the Wiki Workshop website and in The Web Conference 2022 proceedings. You will have the option of posting your slide deck and poster onto Wikimedia Commons or Figshare.
The results of the registration form will not be shared publicly. Raw data collected in the registration form will only be shared with the Wikimedia staff, contractors, and volunteers who need to process this information and are subject to non-disclosure obligations, with the exception of the circumstances described below.
We may disclose any collected information when required by law, when we have your permission, when needed to protect our rights, privacy, safety, users, or the general public, and when necessary to enforce our Terms of Use or any other Wikimedia policy.
