Why we collect your information

This project will help us enable more equitable decisions, evaluate, iterate, and adapt our activities, and increase the sustainability of our movement. We will use the information you provide to:

How we collect your information

Google Forms is used to collect responses or registrations; please read their Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. Zendesk may also be used to collect information. Please read their Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

What information we collect

If you choose to participate, we will ask you to provide the following types of information:

Responses to questions
such as defined and free-form responses
Contact information
such as name, username, email address
Demographic information
such as nationality, gender
We will also collect the following using public information and the service(s) identified above:
Transcripts
such as chat logs, captions, screenshots
Public Wikimedia activity information
such as user contributions or public logs

How we share your information

Publishing: We will publish identifying data (such as direct quotes with attribution). To facilitate this publishing, you agree to license your copyrightable contributions under the terms of Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 and 4.0.

Access: Raw data will only be shared with Wikimedia staff, contractors, service providers, and volunteers who need to process this information and are subject to non-disclosure obligations.

Other sharing: We may disclose any collected information when required by law, when we have your permission, when needed to protect our rights, privacy, safety, users, or the general public, and when necessary to enforce our Terms of Use or any other Wikimedia policy.

How long we keep your information

The raw data we collect will be deleted, de-identified, or aggregated within 180 days. Please note that if you agree to future contact, your contact information will be retained longer to enable that communication. See our data retention guidelines for more information.
