Community oversight and transparency around Bylaws revision process and the interpretation of the Bylaws by the Board and Elections Committee

  1. Is there a process of community oversight in the Bylaws surrounding Board elections?
  2. What can we do to make Bylaws around Board election candidate disqualifications more transparent and community driven?
  3. Regarding Section 3. Selection and Appointment, (C) Community and Affiliate-selected Trustees, (ii) - "(ii) The Board of Trustees shall convey its priorities and requirements for members, as set forth in Article IV, Section 3(A) above, and shall determine the dates, rules and regulation of the approval procedures. The Board shall determine who is qualified to participate in the approval process for Community- and Affiliate-selected Trustees."
  • Can we work on changing this part of the Bylaws such that it's more explicit than just "The Board shall determine.." - because that is far too much stretch room for them to remove without cause.

I also think the community should be paying attention to this, Policy talk:Board of Trustees Candidate Review Process. Hexatekin (talk) 16:33, 6 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
