This statement describes how and when Wikimedia collects, uses, and shares the information we receive from survey participants. In the event of any differences in meaning or interpretation between the original English version of this Privacy Statement and a translation, the original English version takes precedence.

Please note that this survey is powered by Qualtrics, which means Qualtrics' use of your information is governed by their Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

Purpose of Survey

We appreciate your feedback! Your feedback will help determine which proposal should be further refined and carried through to the next phase of the project.

What Information We Collect

This survey collects the responses you provide to the questions asked. There are two types of answers: defined responses, and free-form responses. In addition, Qualtrics will automatically log your IP address. If you would like to be contacted about future surveys for the Movement Brand project, you will be given the option of providing your email address.

Information Sharing and Disclosure

The results of this survey will be shared publicly in the following manner. Aggregate data about the defined-response questions, and a deidentified sample of raw answers to the free-form response questions, will be published on meta.wikimedia.org. We may include direct quotes from your free-form responses in the public results of this survey. If you are completing this survey as an individual, your quotes will be anonymous. If you are completing this survey as a representative of an affiliate, your quotes will be attributed to the affiliate.

Raw data will only be shared with the Wikimedia Foundation staff and contractors, and employees of our outside design research firm Snøhetta. The data will only be shared with people who need to process this information in order to perform their work, and are subject to non-disclosure obligations, with the exception of the circumstances described below.

We may disclose any collected information when required by law, when we have your permission, when needed to protect our rights, privacy, safety, users, or the general public, and when necessary to enforce our Terms of Use or any other Wikimedia policy.

Licensing of Survey Responses

By answering the free-form response questions, you agree that we may record your answers, and agree to donate them to the public domain under the terms of Creative Commons Zero 1.0 (full text available at creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/).

If you submit a new naming proposal, thank you! You waive all rights to any compensation, monetary or otherwise, if we use it as part of our Movement Brand project. By submitting your naming proposal in this survey, you acknowledge and affirm that you agree to this.
