Misrepresentation

Section 5.3 of the guidelines currently reads "When you use a Wikimedia mark under this policy, please use it to represent only the project for which it stands". As a part of an ongoing discussion in the Russian Wikipedia a proposal has been floated to use the inverse Wikipedia logo (routinely used by test.wikipedia.org) for several days to highlight a new ominous turn in the persecution of Wikipedia editors by the Russian government. Please clarify whether test.wikipedia.org and ru.wikipedia.org are considered same project or different ones under the current policy. Deinocheirus (talk) 20:02, 21 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

New Year Wikipedia logo

Can somebody check the Russian Wikipedia guidance on New Year logos to be compatible with the Wikimedia Foundation Trademark Policy: ru:Википедия:Новогодние_логотипы_русской_Википедии? It doesn't mention Wikimedia Foundation Trademark Policy and has requirements only about copyrights. You can see many images that have been chosen to be a New Year Wikipedia logo in the past, but some of them even doesn't incorporate Wikipedia logo and cannot be used as Wikipedia logotypes. Hi, it looks like the section Policy:Trademark policy § 6.1 Reporting misuse incorrectly includes a link to a mockup of a reporting form, claiming that it is a venue to report misuse of the trademarks. Tollens (talk) 09:27, 16 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
