The Advisory Board appointments 2017-2018 were approved by the Board of Trustees on June 16, 2017. |
The Board of Trustees values the experience and expertise of its advisors from the Wikimedia movement, the technology and educational sectors, and other important areas. These advisors can provide guidance on topics that are important for the Wikimedia movement, including giving opinions on topics requested by the Board and initiating and participating in conversations with the community when needed.
Resolved, the Board of Trustees invites the following members of the Advisory Board for 2017-2018:

- Mimi Ito
- Teemu Leinonen
- Wayne Mackintosh
- Benjamin Mako Hill
- Nhlanhla Mbaso
- Trevor Neilson
- Craig Newmark

- Clay Shirky
- Kat Walsh
- Jessamyn West
- Ethan Zuckerman
Membership on the Advisory Board will be for a term commencing immediately and continuing until June 30, 2018.
The Advisory Board will work with the Chair of the Governance Committee, or their appointed liaison.
Resolved, by the end of this 2017-2018 term, the Board of Trustees asks the Governance Committee, working closely with the Executive Director, to provide a recommendation on the future of the Advisory Board.
