The Wikimedia Foundation Investment Policy approved by the Board of Trustees on April 19, 2018 |
Whereas the Board of Trustees of the Wikimedia Foundation approved the existing Wikimedia Foundation Investment Policy on April 25, 2014; and
Whereas the Audit Committee of the Wikimedia Foundation has recommended that the Foundation "restructure our existing cash and investment portfolio to provide funding certainty to fulfill between 6 to 9 months of liquid operating cash, to make prudent investment of excess cash in fixed income investments with shorter maturity, and to support socially innovative investments"; and
Whereas the Board resolved on February 24, 2017 to commit the Foundation to "seek to minimize our overall impact on the environment" and to "consider sustainability as an important part of decisions around servers, operations, travel, offices, and other procurement";
Now, therefore, it is:
RESOLVED that the Board of Trustees approves the updated Wikimedia Foundation Investment Policy, to supersede the existing Investment Policy.
