Resolution:FDC Eligibility for the Wiki Education Foundation
This proposal has been approved by the Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees. It may not be circumvented, eroded, or ignored by Wikimedia Foundation officers or staff nor local policies of any Wikimedia project. Whereas, the Wikimedia Foundation and the Wiki Education Foundation have engaged in a working relationship in support of the mission goals of the Wikimedia movement through educational partnerships, training, and other related activities since February 2014;
Whereas, to ensure the best consideration and use of donor money, the Board of Trustees would like the Funds Dissemination Committee ("FDC") to provide its review and recommendations regarding the Annual Plan Grant allocation from the Wikimedia Foundation to the Wiki Education Foundation in support of the mission and goals of the Wikimedia movement.
Whereas, the Board recognizes that the work of the Wiki Education Foundation is comparable to that of Wikimedia-affiliated entities in support of the mission goals of the Wikimedia movement; and
Whereas, the Board takes note that the Wikimedia Foundation has engaged the services of the Wiki Education Foundation to develop and maintain the Wikimedia Programs & Events Dashboard;
Resolved, that, for purposes of eligibility to submit funding requests to the FDC, the FDC should treat the Wiki Education Foundation as it would treat a Wikimedia-affiliated entity.
