edit this template Welcome to the Wikimedia Foundation website.
Thanks for being here! This wiki does not exactly follow the same rules as the other Wikimedia projects, since it is not open to all for editing, and in case of disagreement, the organ of decision will be the Board. A rule of thumb however is that if we gave you access, that means we trust you. So please, do not be shy in editing this site. There is ample work for everyone :-)
- All organizational pages may be found in the special category.
- For those willing to help with translation, please see m:Translation requests, specially its subpages /WMF, /WMFNews and sometimes /quick translation.
- Please watch for feedback on Meta-Wiki and start discussions there.

About you
Hi. When you have a minute, can you create your user page with some info about you? I'm specifically trying to figure out if you're a contractor or a staffer so that the relevant pages can be updated. I looked in the usual announcement spots, but didn't see anything. Thanks! --MZMcBride 00:52, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
Janice, I've put a placeholder there for now, you may want to edit it.--Eloquence 18:27, 14 February 2011 (UTC)
Hi Janice. Is this supposed to be a closed job opening, as far as I know, nobody has this role at the moment, although Svetlana Istrati is down as Accounting Specialist on the Staff and contractors page? Thanks, The Helpful One 23:30, 30 January 2012 (UTC)
Usernames
Hello, I've corrected a typo and noticed that the account doesn't actually exist (not even in the correct form). I think that adding non-existant accounts to the template is confusing. Nemo 12:08, 11 March 2012 (UTC)

Missing User:JXavier (WMF)
Hi Janice. I am seeing accounts created for "JXavier (WMF)" though I am not seeing him on the list of staff/contractors. Edit summary used is "User:JXavier (WMF) (Created page with "Working as Data and experiments part time contractor.
. If he is a staff/contractor, it would be great if we can had him/her added to the list. Thanks. — billinghurst sDrewth 02:12, 10 March 2013 (UTC)
Staff and contractors sidenotes
Hi Janice. I've started a discussion here about the Staff and contractors page and the labels used with particular people on it. Please feel free to weigh in there. :-) --MZMcBride (talk) 00:47, 13 April 2013 (UTC)
How we will see unregistered users
Hi!
You get this message because you are an admin on a Wikimedia wiki.
When someone edits a Wikimedia wiki without being logged in today, we show their IP address. As you may already know, we will not be able to do this in the future. This is a decision by the Wikimedia Foundation Legal department, because norms and regulations for privacy online have changed.
Instead of the IP we will show a masked identity. You as an admin will still be able to access the IP. There will also be a new user right for those who need to see the full IPs of unregistered users to fight vandalism, harassment and spam without being admins. Patrollers will also see part of the IP even without this user right. We are also working on better tools to help.
If you have not seen it before, you can read more on Meta. If you want to make sure you don’t miss technical changes on the Wikimedia wikis, you can subscribe to the weekly technical newsletter.
We have two suggested ways this identity could work. We would appreciate your feedback on which way you think would work best for you and your wiki, now and in the future. You can let us know on the talk page. You can write in your language. The suggestions were posted in October and we will decide after 17 January.
Thank you. /Johan (WMF)
